man this sounds worse than my first small block \"learning\" experience.

hope you get it going soon!

I\'m definitely learning a lot about motors and how they work. I guess that\'s one good thing about it.  Up til this point the most I ever done was the intake on the Tahoe.

Got the steering welded in this weekend! Also reinstalled the drive shafts. Hopefully the gears come in early this week and get the motor fired up.

After taking the timing cover off, I noticed the timing chain was real sloppy. New timing gear set should be here by Friday, and get it back together this weekend.

Status Report:

RUNNING! Nice and smooth! Had it running all afternoon yesterday. 50psi oil pressure.

All that is left now is to bleed the brakes, and I can drive it. Then just have to make the firewall so it is trail ready.

Just got home from taking it for a test drive. I was so tempted to hammer down, but I just took it slow.

I finally can take a sigh of relief!

If anyone has a video camera and wants to video it next weekend for me, let me know. It\'s in Bloomfield/Bristol now on route 20a about a mile from the intersection of 64 and 20a on the right.

All it needs now to be trail-ready is a firewall.

I\'ll get some pics tomorrow.

Paint is going to be camouflage. I got 5 cans at autozone for a penny a piece! 2 - Flat black, 2 - olive grean, 1 - tan.

IF ANYONE IS AN ARTIST OR GOOD AT PAINTING CAMO, you are MORE THAN  WELCOME TO PAINT IT! I\'m no artist, so it\'ll look like crap.

Exocage is next year\'s project. This year is slow and steady to enjoy it.

I think I\'d have made it a 10? paint job, 5 cans isn\'t much to cover a whole car.  But it\'s sure not much of a gamble!

Cool.

Post a request on craigslist to have someone come out and grafiti camo paint the body.

Slowly getting the bugs out. The CJ7 brakes bleed either the easy way, or the hard way. Mine decided the hard way. The proportioning valve is stuck, so I only have rear brakes. Hopefully working that out this week.

We did a radiator flush to get the cleaner out and fresh coolant in. Also in progress of making a custom shroud for it to help the electric fans keep it cool.

Other than that, its a matter of a completed firewall, fender flares installed, and figuring out a gas pedal.

I\'ll keep ya posted.

**MENGLER WILL BE AT JUNE MEETING AROUND 5:30, SO COME EARLY TO CHECK IT OUT!!**

Cleaned out the proportioning valve. The front brakes worked, but I still didn\'t have good brakes. So I took the advice from people on the Jeep Forum and bought a \'79 Corvette master cylinder. The brakes lock up now. I recommend it to anyone.
