its been a long week.  Lower subframe refabricated.  buggy back on links.  100$ trans hopefully to end up as good spare when i get my good trans back rebuilt installed. Motor mounts refabricated, HVHP oil pump in motor put in, motor installed. crushed exhaust fixed.  Motor wired and plumbed less radiator last night.

all thats left is cooling system, front drive shaft, trans linkage, hook the battery up, fill fluids, rebuild passenger kingpin, and hang tins.

Also have to take the alternator in / replace it.  wasnt charging correctly before.

buggy is back.  Heading to rausch tonight.

good rausch trip, no issues, new trans kicks hard.

need to tweak front shocks they are making lots of oil noises, not sure why.

39.5\" Baja KRT\'s on the way.... will be 571\'s new race tire   :)

new griffen on the way for a rear radiator along with a few other goodies.  Have air bumps to put in this week along with all new steering heims.  Also planing on going serpintine belt system.  Have to fab another front link, and mount up the new race tires :)  

Less than two weeks for race day.

Race prep for this weekend continues!

tree bars added
Front axle side ram mount bored and sleved to eliminate slop
Both Knuckles bored out, tapped to 5/8\"s bolts for high steer arms
Front ram gaurd replaced with a bigger one


Buggy is having starting issues that i think are related to a dieing starter, undersized power cables, and an under sized master disconnect.

Tonights list:

Fill tanks
Fit tins to tree bars and mount
swap new optima in
swap new master disconnect in
replace / add 2g wire
wash
load trailer / pack race gear.

I\'m not sure if your rules allow but when wiring roadrace cars I use a starter solenoid relay very much like the one found in a CJ but rated for \"continuous on\"  A simple toggle switch is used as the accessible switch for race officials, the nice part is you can have multiple switches to kill power. Those crappy plastic switches with the red key are a DNF waiting to happen, on cars where that switch was spec we replaced them several times a season as preventative maintenance.

ya, i have burned out two cheap ones this week, i got a 500amp one to put in tonight that should be good.

everything but the front winch goes through it.  im probably pushing 30-40 amps alone in electric fans at this point between the three of them.

I hadn\'t thought of the fans - that\'s a lot of extra draw that wasn\'t there before.
