Project #1...replaced o2 sensor so it will pass inspection

...then I realized I replaced the WRONG sensor....What I needed was bank 1 sensor 2. So I went back to the store and bought what I needed. The guy at the store said the sensor was located PAST the cat. so I get under the Jeep and this is what I see...

a shiny new piece of pipe where the cat needs to be!
and they tied the plug for the sensor up to the tranny!

So now Im going to drill a hole in the pipe and thread in the new sensor. a new cat is too expensive and if people can hollow out a cat and still get their cars to pass inspection, i can drill this and have the sensor read the same and still should pass

Future Plans, In Order:

-remove steeringwheer cover
-install cd player (truck didnt come with faceplate) and CB radio
-full shampoo on inside (seats are dirty)
-make tow points
-prep for paint
-paint (gunmetal grey w/ black flares, bumpers and trim)
-4.5\" lift (lift springs front and shackle in rear w/ new shocks)
-rims and tires (cheep 2nd set of wheels and probably TSLs for tires)

WRONG!!!!

get a sensor, tie it to the frame.

a \'98 Mopar is just looking for a difference in O2 values between the pre and post cat sensors to verify catalytic function.  Starting in 2000 or so that post-cat O2 is also used for tuning, but you can get away with this on your \'98.

Put a sensor in that naked pipe and you\'ll have a MIL in no time flat.

Leave the purple base and put some stripes on it just to break it up...

maybee ill just paint all the bumpers, flares and trim black like i was going to anyways and see how it looks then.
i put it in 4 wheel drive today in my yard and the U-joints are shot, so Ill just add them to the list.
making it bulletproof comes first before any painting

...it Didnt Pass!

heres what they said it needs:
-reverse lights dont work (bulbs?)
-they couldnt open the rear hatch (they didnt hit \"unlock\")
-it \"needs\" a cat in the exhaust

so heres the plan:
-drive it some more to see if i can get it to clear the code, then call in a favor and have 1 of my friends inspect it so i dont need a cat. IF it doesnt throw the code again
