You may have heard about the Smokey the Bear campaign accusing ATVs of causing sparks.  I thought it had been posted here, but I didn\'t see it in a quick glance.  In any case, we don\'t always \"loose\"

If you are receiving this e-mail, it is because you sent in a letter through the Pirate4x4.com letter generator in response to the Smokey the Bear Public Service announcement.
Because of YOUR letter, which was one of over 200 sent in within two days through Pirate4x4.com, the Ad Council has removed the Smokey the Bear PSA from all its ad outlets and the Forest Service has requested the media to stop airing the PSA.
Stopping the use of this misguided Public Service Announcement was no small feat! That success is because of your efforts. Thank you for taking the time to use the Pirate letter generator and for helping to keep the anti-recreationists elements from further damaging the OHV reputation in the eyes of the public.

wait...what was all this about? ATV\'s do cause sparks and fires, thats why your required to have a \"spark arrestor\" in your exhaust. on closed course racing you dont need one, but racing in the woods you do. when i race everyone has to go through inspection to make sure you have one

and anything sold to the public for the last two decades has a spark arrestor from the factory, and they are required equipment for anyone riding in a national park (which was the setting for the PSA).
