I didn\'t get the water wetter but I guess it is normal for cherokees to run that hot. With bigger tires I am guessing it runs hotter too so I want it as low as possible.

poor cooling is very common in XJs.  they have a much more cramped engine compartment than Wranglers and I think a smaller radiator as well.

especially with 150k miles on it I would want it to last as long as possible. Do you guys know much about fender flares? I know the guy cut the :censor: out of them but I don\'t know if I bought wide ones if they would fit

So my cherokee has a problem every once and awhile with it losing power. Ill be driving and it seems like it ran out of gas and the RPMs drop and as soon as its about to stall out it revs up real high. What causes this?

My first check would be the Throttle Position Sensor.

TPS should affect cruise control but not economy, or surging....

13 is terrible though.  is your odometer accurate?

Plugs/cap/rotor/wires?  fuel system?  Not sure if you have a filter but I\'d check it if you do...

My TJ was stalling and surging until I had the TPS replaced...

That little thing lets the computer know how much fuel to feed the 4.0L
