https://www.ultra4usa.com/famous-reading-rumbleSo I have the (maybe delusional?
) idea to race the unlimited 4400 class at the Ultra4 race in PA. It’s 7/27-7/30 at Famous Reading Outdoors (FRO) in Pottsville. I’ve never been to this off road park but I’ve heard one of their properties actually touches AOAA’s property at some point so I expect similar wheeling just maybe not as many rocks? They have multiple properties and one yearly membership ($225). Theres a bunch of old cool mining equipment including the strip mining equipment that most likely utilized the bucket that’s at the entrance to AOAA! Sounds like if there is open wheeling allowed during the race weekend (I will find out) this would be a cool camping, wheeling, and RACE weekend much like 2018 AOAA!
Schedule:
Thursday 7/27: Tech inspection and pre running
Friday 7/28: qualifying
Saturday 7/29: big race day
Sunday 7/30: open trail wheeling?!

Some items I will need to beg steal or borrow (or buy lol):
- SA2015 or newer pumper helmet for Joe to borrow (wired for rugged coms)
- VHF base station for main pit, backup plan is Joe Bailey's 25W unit if we can get the race channels programmed on there.
- fancy pit mat (could use a tarp if no one has one)
- 1 drivers suit for potential refueling in the main pit
- spare dana 60 front RCVs
-
traffic cone for my hood in the pit Joe Bailey found one in the wild
- SFI 3.3 gloves for refueling
