The brief but not abbreviated version...
Friday evening arrivals: sMike first then Nick and Spencer, wingman, k9keeper all between 9 - 10pm. Weather was damp and misty with light rain on and off. Some chit chat then sleepy-time.
Early Saturday morning, sMike and Spencer prepped for the race while the rest of our crew ate breakfast and prepped our own rides for the day's journey. After checking in, we headed over to the North property to watch the beginning of the race and then back to hit the trails. We covered 1C, 8, O black, CV, Walk in the Park, went back North and checked on the race, played on the Comp Course for a bit, returned to camp briefly, met up with sMike, Spencer, and limping buggy, said farewell to sMike and adopted Anthony and passenger friend, went down to the old office area, L3, Jotter's blue, 1 blue, 1A, 2, J, J1, 19A, 19B, 11, 23, 11B, and Power Line. Arriving back at camp again, we said farewell to eastbound Anthony and retrieved some not-so-good firewood. It was windy and chilly on that mountain top! Brrr.
Sunday morning, Sean joined us and we set out on the now open North property for 39, K blue, Outer Limits, 38B, 38C, BFG Hill, Devil's Den, 31, 32, 35, 36, then Nick and Spencer broke off and headed back to camp and home. We finished 34, 37, F black, back to the East property for trail 5, 4, and Yellow Jacket before calling it. The evening was much calmer and the fire was able to warm us more efficiently.
Monday morning gave pause for packing, parts procurement, and de-parting.
Minimal breakage: lock-out hub, coil-over shock, tail light. New dents, wrinkles, and other beauty marks earned. We covered some difficult terrain and had a great time!
