Rausch creek 1/19 - 1/20
« on: January 25, 2013, 04:21:46 PM »
Erik, Brian, Alex, and I went down to rausch creek.  two buggies and a JK.  We also bumped into Josh and brian that we have wheeled with before.

I rolled in first about dusk on friday.  Used my new Lifetime LED light on the buggy to grab some fire wood down the first access trail in the camp area.  Ryans new lights are AWESOME!

IT WAS COLD

the fire was nice and only got better with erik and brian bringing 3 boxes of scrap trim to burn.

Food was great

Wheeling saturday ended in 5min.  I broke a ujoint, that broke shafts, that bound and blew both king pins on the driver side of my Dana60, and that ripped the lower portion of the Axle C in half.  We were on the comp course so recovery was easy.  We welded it up and patched it up to drive but decided it was not worth the risk in such cold for a trail recovery again.

We did some wheeling that afternoon with the CJ bugy and Alex in the JK.

Great times, good food.

Heated enclosed trailers are the way to camp in the winter.

Dry roads for towing there and back was nice.

All home safe and had a good time for a short notice small crew trip.
