Rausch Trip 2/23-2/26
« on: February 26, 2012, 05:41:23 PM »
I sold a set of tires that needed to be delivered to Rausch Creek so a trip was planned!  No one seemed to be interested, but Erik from Jeepwerx was in for leaving thrusday night so we hit the road and headed to the park!

Friday night was a little chilly but the roads on the way down were dry and both of us made the trip in less than 4 hours.  Fire wood was gathered and burned through the night!

The next day the park was empty and we were the only two rigs in the park!  it was a little over cast and we got some sprinkles for a few minutes a couple times thoughout the day, but over all a fun day of wheeling.  being two 40's rigs we covered most of the "old" side of the park that day.  Erik floped over the CJ and later had a snapped transmission shifter cable.  I winched him over for the first incident, and a par of vice grips through the floor fixed the second.  That night it cleared up and with the stars out we again put away a good night of bon fire and stories.  They guy that bought tires from me showed up and made the exchange.

Saturday morning we woke up to two inches of snow, but no wet rain which was appreciated.  we headed over to the new property and again covered most of the park in the morning, hit some trails and came back to a heated trailer for lunch.  The afternoon we stayed on the old side and headed to cemetery.  On one of the red climbs out I blew the rear drive shaft in 571 on a pointy rock!  we winched and dragged it out in FWD back to camp.  loaded up and decided to just relax and leave in the morning.  Later that night we noticed some NY plates and learned that Nick one of the owners of a couple Salvatores pizzerias here in rochester pulled in next to us!  They joined our fire and we introduced ourselves.

Sunday morning we were on the road headed back north by 8:30 am

Great trip!
