BC4W Poker Run, Bath NY
« on: November 30, 2011, 05:04:18 PM »
Well we at Back Country 4 Wheelers have decided to try another poker run this coming winter after major success 2 years ago and some success last year (dang weather didnt cooperate, lol)
Anyhow it will be on Sunday february 19th and it will start and end at our club land in Bath (5459 county route 10), our gates will open at 9AM. Our play area will also be open if anyone is interested in that, we had some good feedback after our last playday with the improvements we made.

Your vehicle should have plates on it to run the poker run, since it takes place on the public roads up there. We will be mapping a slightly different route this year to change it up a lil. we will try to leave the country store at the end of the run so people can gas up and get refreshments. it will still be 10 bux for driver and vehicle and i believe 5 bux a passanger to register (kids under 13 are free). The driver and navigator will both be playing poker with trophies and possably a little monitary prize for the best poker hand.

ANY questions please feel free to ask me, thanx for looking and hope to see some of you out there to cure that cabin fever that should be ful blown by Feb. LOL

 Jason

If I am lucky I will finally be relocated by that point to make the trip and be educated on how to wheel the Northeast.

This sounds fun. Is it just a cruise on the back roads of the bath area?

it is a blast.  the first year i did it all the roads had 1" of smooth ice so it made things interesting.   there is a deserted road at the end that is pretty sweet rocky hill climb also.  about 200mile round trip from rochester and a great day trip.  cant wait!

kinda.......close to half of the route is on seasonal rds, which arent taken care of in the winter time, and we have some dirt type rds mixed in and unfortunatley some pavement, lol, but if the weather works with us its a ton of fun. some of us will be checking the roads some time before the actual run. we have changed some of the roads this year as well as the direction of some, and depending on how "bad" they are we will add or subtract roads if we feel it will be for the best of the group.......

Thanx for the interest guys.......

a few of us ran the route yesterday and it took us a couple hours and covered about 45 miles, we only had three jeeps so we ran hammer down. Most of the seasonal roads had some ice and snow on them, one of em was quite fun, I chased a fellow member back down one of the hils every which way but forward, LOL. it was snowing while we were there and we got some more today so the other roads will be more fun. and for those of you saying "wow 2 hours" i am pretty sure it will stretch out a bit once there are a bunch of trucks out there, as some of you know.......

Any how i hope to see some of you all out there, i prolly wont be running a check point but you may see my black XJ in a ditch somewhere......
