88 yj clutch fluid leak
« on: October 06, 2011, 07:07:03 PM »
I have a 88 yj I just replaced the tranny in. Got everything together, blead the clutch, got good pressure so I thought cool..done! Then I started it went to take off and lost the clutch. Looked under it and it was leaking between the bell housing and tranny. Obvously leaking from the internal slave...yay! Go me! Question is does this mean its definitely bad or is there something else that could cause it to leak? It looked new so I didn\'t replace it. Oh and its the ba10 5 speed.

whenever the tranny is out I always made it a habit to replace those things..
b/c s you guess.. you got to drop the tranny again..

and do yourself a favor.. get a MOPAR one from the dealer.. sounds stupid, but I have had great luck with thoes when I have has a couple faulty ones with internal leaks from aftermarket sources...
