FAIL Thread, Local
« on: January 31, 2011, 12:44:43 PM »
Ok, its time for some humor, some tears and light hearted mocking. This is the FingerLakes4x4 Local Fail thread, a place to post pics or stories of local failures and breakage for the rest of us. Be prepared to me laughed at, or to receive sympathy for the bone sticking out of your skin. There are plenty of national threads like this but I\'d like to see what we can scare up locally. Breakage is always invited here.

Who\'s first?

Ill start.  for the first time in my life i backed my vehicle into someone else\'s.  put it in  4x4 and did it again harder before i realized what was going on in a snowy crowded driveway.  Little did i know in the time i walked to the jeep and got in, chip had done the same and moved his XJ out of the way right in my blind spot.  Entirely my fault for backing up blind.

My luck trying to do someone else a favor delivering tires (could not see out of the back of the packed XJ at all) i cause damage to chips XJ and broke my own tail gate piston off the hatch in transport.

FAIL.

So instead of moving the van to turn the Jeep around, to get in in the Garage... I decided that I would just turn around in the yard. Got stuck in my jeep in my own back yard. Since I live in the city the yard is about the size of the jeep. Had to install the fixed drive shaft in the snow, just to get it un-stuck. Wife is not happy with the grass damage.

Yeah so no pic yet have not had time but thought id share. So i have twin 16 yr old daughters with there permits. its very scary trust me. So the other day my wife decides to go to the store and let them drive on the way there or back home. well about twenty minutes after they leave i get a text from my wife sayin oh my god we hit a pole. I called her in thoughts ok are you all right what happened etc. turns out my wife (YES MY WIFE) was backing out of a spot and somehow didnt see the light pole and backed into it... all i could say is oh my god what a way to teach how to drive and laughed. all was ok just some yellow rub off paint near reverse light . So thats my laugh had to share
