Ask me how I know
« on: January 23, 2011, 04:41:37 PM »
So I have often wondered why parts stores sell drum cylinder rebuild kits when the whole cylinder is a few bucks more.
Apparently, often people don\'t want to undo the the brake line and risk breaking the line.
As me how I know!

Or use a flare wrench

Sometimes the cheap oversees casting is weaker then the OE...
Of you buy cheap store brand that\'s what your faced with.
I would rather rebuild my OE casting than put a crappy white box one in...

the casting was fine, SMike was right it was the brake line the nut was rusted to the line, so when I disconnected the line from the cylinder it broke the line. A new line was cheap but an extra trip to the store and 30 minutes in the cold I did not enjoy.
