RC Crawlers?

Anybody\'s kids play with these,

I\'ve been looking around, cant make heads or tails of what\'s what..

I want it to have the possibility of running a Jeep body,
Electric,
The bigger the better.

I don\'t mind building and upgrading, would like to be out the door with car, radio, charger etc. for around 3 or $400.

Aren\'t they a pan car?  Any guess at suspension travel?

No its not a pan car, its a 2wd truck with 3\" of travel on the four corners, Independent both front and rear, will run 40 to 45mph in a parking lot, It is a associated rc10t, you can look it up at towerhobbies.com, the truck kit by itself cost about $250 , this comes with radio , charger , batteries ready to run, you can change the gearing to make it a rock crawler and can get any type of body you want

No you would have to buy a differnt truck kit to get 4wd, this truck is more like a stadium race truck

I got one, Axial ax10.  the kids love it too and other than driveshafts, the thing has been pretty indestructable.  I take it on our camping trips and my 5, 7, and 13 play with it.  Originally bought it when I had surgery to keep me from going insane...

Highly recommend one.

Thanks for the info guys.

I do want to stick with 4wd,

And looking around some more I am leaning towards scale 4x4 as apposed to pure crawlers. I know they wont perform as well but looks is part of the game.

I have a Traxxas Summit. It\'s alot of fun. It has 4wd, high and low range, and e-lockers front and rear. I drive it under water, no problems

The hardcore RC\'ers might laugh at this but I had a Wheelie King RTR setup that I really enjoyed. I got great deal on it after Christmas at Dan\'s Crafts and Things. It was stock for about a week. Aftermarket crawler kit changed it from 1:12 scale to 1:10 which opened up a whole bunch of body choices for it.
So much you can do to those things with a box of money...almost as bad (good) as off roading.

I have a ton of servos and radio bits and some nitro motors at home in MN too.

If I\'d bought a house one street over it\'d all be here and in boats but I don\'t have a real handy pond here....
