jeep 258 Head
« on: September 19, 2010, 08:08:43 PM »
Im looking for one.. STOCK.. uncut..

I believe my motor has too much compression..
I am running a compromised timing to reduce ping..
My head is cut .015 and is rebuilt (less than 4K on it)
I would be willing to swap head with somebody..
its off of a 85 CJ motor.. unsure what head bolt size.. I will check tomorrow.

Your welcome to have my spare 85\' head checked out.

I do not know the history but it was running when I pulled the motor with a suspected cracked piston of broken oil ring. If it\'s not what you need or if it\'s junk we could swap\'em back..

I have a spare 258 in the shed, 1985, didnt run when I put it there, but I suspect it was carb issues.
No plans for the head. so let me know.

I just found out I can get a reman head from work..
but its the perimiter valve cover design.. I curently use a westside perf cover.. Im sure I can swap the center bolts...

Im debating now if my gear ratio would help w/o going through a head swap..

gearing?  not sure i understand that.

but you could do some math and swap on a set of tires alot easier than head or gear work to see if that makes you happier.
