Interesting article in the NY Times.....  some of the land may be sold in the near future to private/commercial owners.  4x4 park anyone?!

Unfortunately every square inch of that land is inside \"the blue line\" (boundary of Adirondack Park) and is protected by the DEC. Even though it\'s private land, any use of it has to be cleared by the state, and we all know how 4x4 friendly this state is. Someone could probably buy a chunk of it and get away with wheeling small groups in a private setting, but I doubt the state would ever ok an full blown ORV park.

I think you\'re absolutely right Joe.  The Adirondack Park Comission has to approve anything at all that\'s done in the park.

There may be some Wilderness designation issues involved as well.

OK, I have an idea.
Joe and Mike, how about you two design a slightly less complicated system to electrically power a few of the club trucks and we can then have a \"green\" claim and experimental usage plan to propose to the forest folks?

I would suggest fuel cells, but we know thats a few years away.

if only water and electrics got along better, and watts per pound were a little more attractive....
