Rausch Creek Off Road Park expansion!
« on: January 31, 2010, 07:01:53 PM »
The following is copied from RC forum, posted 1/22/2010

Everyone at Rausch Creek Off-Road Park is excited to bring the news of \"new land\" to you.  That\'s right, we are adding 1,250 acres to your wheeling pleasure starting in April (or sooner).  RC has been able to work out a deal to use 1,250 acres across the street from our current location.  This land has been used on a part-time basis for high speed racing.  The master plan is to start cutting trails in the woods and adding a ton of additional mileage to the park\'s trail network.  This area has some features that we don\'t have on our normal area (long hill climbs, washouts, open mud pit areas and much more).  Part of this area will be closed from time to time for our RCrocs races and other events but these dates will be listed on our website ahead of time.

Now hear me out please!!!!  With this increased land there is a cost.  If you choose to wheel on this new area there will be a $10 fee to venture to the new 1,250 acres.  To acquire this land there was a cost to RC and so that is why it is passed along to you the wheelers.  So it is real simple.  When you check in each day there is the normal fee of $35 for the current land we use or $45 for the current land and the added 1,250 acres.

I wouldn\'t mind helping out providing I can get away from work and the weather is a little warmer.

Don\'t know how soon you guys are talking about going.  Mid April would be my earliest.

I\'m old.

It will probably take a month or so to organize, so maybe early - mid march?

Wow that sound great!! I just gotta ask; do you guys always travel so far to go 4 wheeling? I love road trips, don\'t get me wrong, but I would think that traveling so far would just make it so much harder to get away & have fun.

We have limited access to a private park 2.5 hours east, but the next closest is 4.5hours. Rausch Creek, RockRun, BeaveRun are the closest.

We seem to average at least 1 trip per month as a club. Some of us make it out more than others. But yes its difficult sometimes to make every weekend a 3 day weekend.

For those of you who don\'t want to drive that far or just would rather come out first and check out some amazing trails that these parks have to offer... just post up in the forum for a specific event. I sometimes have an open seat as do some of the other members.   So don\'t be shy, and. Maybe members willing to offer up a passenger seat will post up as well.

But be forewarned, the addiction that follows will lead to bigger axles, biggers tires, gearing, winches etc...
And we cannot be held responsible
