As long as you have tow points you should be good as far as i am concerned, i have a winch and tow strap as do several of the other guys from my club (if you had your own recovery strap WITHOUT HOOKS that would be a plus). Seeing how its a new JK all your saftey equipment should be up to par, a fire extinguisher and first aid kit are nice to have also just in case. CB not a big deal here, cause we will be in groups and/or fairly close together, but nice to have.

Like i said on other forums you should try to make it out.

i would regard a CB radio as one of the most useful things in my rig.
572 single seat race buggy
573 Brolite '97 Ranger, '96 backup ranger
1997 ZJ 35's
2014 Ram 4500 Cummins 6 speed 4x4
48' enclosed trailer

don\'t get me wrong a cb IS very usefull, I have one as do many of my fellow club members....but i don\'t think its an absolute must have for someone just starting out. There are other things i would worry about first, like recovery gear, extinguisher and stuff like that....

food for thought....it will be wet out there and
MUD ruins everything, brakes, pulleys, clutches, interior, body scratches, things may break.
And often voids manufacturers warranty when the frame is plugged with mud. ie. \'offroaded\'
That would be the biggest thing i\'d worry about wheeling a 2010.
but i\'m sure it could:) I\'d like to see all out there.

kinda like subaru, buy a wrx, you get a \'free\' scca memebership BUT if you race...poof no warranty for you!

I agree w smike,
We have wheeled with many other clubs that dont use CB\'s.
And its very difficult to communicate amongst a group that arent close buddies, with out one.
I have seen and heard of many rigs getting left behind because the leader of the group had no idea someone in thee back broke or got stuck.
Just keep it in mind.
MudNuts will be requiring CB\'s in ALL rigs for rides this season. portable is ok too.
In the age of IPODS, Satelite radio, and GPS, 75.00 on a CB and antenna is pretty cheap and long term investment!
