I couldn\'t find any info regarding camping from either rock run or maryland creepers forums.
it could be because im on my phone.
I hope we can camp, I don\'t think holiday inn will appreciate a camp fire in their parkinglot.

finding info is really hard.  No wonder this place is struggling.

i send Dan @ Maryland Crawlers an email about saturday and camping. he seems to be the point man.

Homemadexj:
\"The park is currently closed for the season so I don\'t think the campground is available for this event. If you check under services you can find the number for several places with lodging around the area. Glendale does have some campsites if you want to camp that evening. Be forewarned there maybe snow for the weekend in that area so it might get a little cold.\"

Hi Fellas,

I joined up to help you get some info on Rock Run this weekend. I\'ll try and find out about camping Saturday night for you.

The only hold-ups I would see is finding someone to let you in the gate Saturday evening. Since the park is only open for the event, the place is quiet. Hunting season is in though so there may be someone there on Saturday (I believe they don\'t allow wheeling there when deer season is in since people hunt on the land).

The weather has been windy and cold with a little snow, nothing compared to what you are used to I\'m sure!

Here is what I got so far:

\"Due to it being off season I am pretty sure there isn\'t camping allowed for this. But if they would like to check out nearby Prince Gallitzin State Park I know they have some nice campsites as well as cabins. (888) PA-Parks is to give info on the State park campsites.

There is more lodging info at RockRunRecreation.com in their services section. As for who to call to double check...I called Matt last night about it and said as far he and the committee knew it was a no...but west pac would be the ones to contact. \"

It looks like it won\'t be open to camp Saturday night. There are some other lodging options listed on this page as well: http://www.rockrunrecreation.com/Services.aspx

we have camped and woken up to 7 degrees when the sun comes up.   we are use to it and prepared.

Are we going or bailing and just going to rausch for two days?

thoughts?

I have no vote since my pile is a pile.

BUT that said, I\'d go to Rausch and put my money (and toys) where they actually cater to those who have to travel.  Maybe someday things will be better.  I really hope so.

If it was midsummer with 14+ hours of daylight my vote might go the other way since one day can be a lot of wheeling, but in winter when time is short a one day trip is completely worthless.

I got to agree with mindless on this one.  If I\'m driving 5 hours I\'d rather wheel 2 days plus know we got a place to camp!
