Just installed a Warn Rock Crawler Front Bumper on my Wrangler. The manufacturer didn\'t take into consideration New Yorks idiot laws that require a front tag, so it is not drilled for mounting one. I can\'t in good conscience take a drill to this thing. Does any one have any ideas on how to solve this dilema?

If you don\'t have a winch or other obstruction between the bumper and the grille, zip-tie or otherwise securely fasten your plate to the grille slats.  Otherwise, you\'ll have to fab up some kind of bracket with some old fashion ingenuity.

Thats about all you can do..... except that you should use chrome zip ties OR Fab up a chrome bracket..... it will make you go faster!!!

Thanks, guys. Why do I need a tag in the front anyways, don\'t you get pulled over from behind?

NYS law.  Also... State Troopers now have plate readers that scan your plate when they drive by.

There is a guy down the road that has a hinged license plate frame, mounts in front of the fairlead and swings out of the way when using the winch.

I really like that idea except inside the truck just popping in/out flashlights they\'ve broken on me several times.  Wonder if it works well over the long term.  I imagine the plastic could get brittle.  Cool though, much cleaner than a zip tie solution for sure.

When I had my jeep.... seems like ages ago... I just used some heavy duty magnets to hold it to the bumper and when I was ready to wheel I took the plate off so nothing happened to it. After we were done I just stuck it back on and off I went. I was tired of it getting all bent up and ripped off. Worked great for me and held fast at highway speeds.
