\'99 Grand 4.0 Limited

Bought it with no engine.  Working on making my \'97 motor distributorless to put it in.

Adapted motor mounts and alt mounting, still need to make a bracket to hold an idler pulley between the alt and water neck.  Accessory mounts are completely different between WJ and TJ, and this is the old style block, the WJ stuff is all for the newer \"2000+\" block that apparently actually started in \'99 WJs.  I love misinformation on the internet :)

Hitting a junkyard Saturday to try and get the rest of the parts I need: PS/AC bracket(s), coil packs, ignition pickup, water pump, and a missing flexplate bolt. I think that\'s it.

It\'s in very good shape, few minor issues and a missing radio.  Quadradrive II, unfortunately, but that\'ll be fine.

139,700 miles IIRC.  Needs ball joints on the right, maybe bushings on the A frame at the rear, and 4 tires.  Hopefully all the pics come through.

its in descent shape and the hard stuff is done.  

i give mike credit for taking on this challenge.  happy to help a few 5am wrench nights in a heated garage this time of year....

Original plan was to flip it, I have not run any numbers yet but I may consider selling the Jetta and driving this instead.  I\'m pretty sure I\'m right side up on my car, and insurance is cheaper on the WJ.  It\'s a really, really nice Jeep.

I\'ve got nothing to do on it tonight that I can think of.  Everything has to wait for the distributorless conversion to either fail or succeed.

I\'ll probably be over there tomorrow around 2-2:30pm until god knows when (esp if it works/runs and I\'m chasing check engine codes).  If you want me to give you a call when I head over I will.  It\'s pretty easy to find Jake.  I\'ll PM you.

i just talked to my buddy that has a GCH and he has all the parts you need...for a 5.2L

for the 4.0 he has a water pump...not sure what else till he gets home from school next weekend. i dont know if that helps or not.

he has a gch limited v8 that were building up, its the body right before yours so im not sure what year it is, but right now we have to break in the new engine he just built. heres a pic w/ it on 31s. it now has a new lift and its sitting on 35s

im trying to get him to join after he comes back from school. if you keep yours are you going to lift and wheel it?

ZJ stuff is _completely_ different than WJ stuff.

May lift it a bit, run 32s or something.  Very mild.  Doubt it would be wheeled more than my Jetta.  Which is wheeled more than some Jeeps mind you, but still....
