I was ready to convert my A/C to OBA, until a long trip home from Rausch in the summer.. believe me A/C is needed for those trips.

Ryan posted a 12V compressor on eBay a while ago, I think it was Puma brand that was supposed to be very worth the money, it could even run tools.

Keith loves his C02.

I guess then the next step is probably to go to harbor freight and buy one, air down 1 of my tires and see how long it takes...if it takes too long, return it

As long as you know how much your empty tank weighs you can get an idea by using a bathroom scale. And if all your going to use it for is airing up tires you should be able to  many a tire before depleting it.

I have been looking into seting one up, I have heard that a 15 lbs CO2 system can support an impact gun for about 30 mins. obviously this would vary depending on each gun.

I hate to worry about running out. it goes against my \"be prepared\" motto.
and I should be able to get a \"good\" 12v for UNDER the cost of Just the co2 tank. and i wouldnt have to worry about ever running out

ok this one has 2.54 CFM @ 135psi and a max psi of 150.

is 2.54 enough to power a gun?

I have found that what it say it will run on and what it actually needs are not the same, I would say around 5 cfm @ 90 for best results for an impact. If you have a tank with the compressor You should be able to use it in short bursts, I did this with a little pancake compressor when pulling a motor out of my MG.

The compressor in my garage does 5.8cfm @90 and just barely keeps up with my impact gun set to full torque.

If your only going to need to fill tires that compressor should work, Then you could also test how well it keeps up with a gun set to a lower torque say just enough to lossen lug nuts.

Mines an older Blue Point.
