Back Country 4 Wheelers Poher Run
« on: February 09, 2020, 06:03:23 PM »
We met Joe at the Back Country club house, registered, and drew crappy hands to start, then loaded up and headed out. We got to the bottom of the driveway and came to a stop. (Little did we know this was going to be the theme for the entire day.) There was a truck and 20' trailer blocking the drive way (see pics on Facebook) After waiting a few minutes the way was cleared and we were off. At the top of the first big hill the fresh power claimed its first victim, Joe slid into the ditch and the lack of traction had me pulling him out. This was followed by several other vehicles getting stuck (stock tires and snow don't make a great combo) After all vehicles were rescued we were off again but this was short lived, Joe's transfer case came out of gear and wouldn't engage again, luckily we were on pavement and Joe was able to head out in 2wd. His parting words to me were if you hurry you can catch up to the others ahead of us and tag along with them. It wasn't 15 minuets and we found the ones ahead of us. All stuck on the 2nd big hill, once the first vehicle became stuck everyone else was stuck, After much pushing and winching with at least 2 of the vehicles coming close to going over the edge we were off again (2 hours later). Thankfully the rest of the run was without incident and the scenery was beautiful. We got back to the club house just before the 3pm deadline and drew the rest of a awful hand. All in all a great time was had and a set of MaxTrax moved WAY up my wish list.

Glad it was a good run! Sounds a lot more challenging than a few recent ones have been
