Mid Life Crisis - '02 TJ i4 stick

Yes it's cliché. But the Mrs agrees that it's better that I spend time with the jeep than another woman. MLC, as we call her, was picked up by us in April '13. A mix of a necessary 3rd car, birthday gift to me, and planned purchase she is both a DD and my off road toy. When purchased her stats were:
* rebuilt i4 with 20K mi
* Manual transmission
* 3" lift
* Mild body rust with a rust through on the front driver fender, left and right of tail gate above bumper
* 2 sets of tires/wheels - BFG AT 30x9.5x15 and 33x12.5x15 on steel rims

Since we've picked her up I've added
* BFG MT 33x12.5x15 on solid aluminium rims
* ZJ tie rod
* Rampage frameless top
* Aussie locker in the front

She's been well used by the previous owners and has plenty of beauty marks. I've added a few of my own. I'm spending the winter working on dealing with some of the rust, killing death wobble and trying to figure out a few persistent issues. M4 is doing most of the work while I learn how to do some of this stuff myself.

Hoping to get a few more things done this spring. I'll post things here.

Did my first solo diff fluid swap. Some quick help from wingman kept me out of trouble.

Hood removed to a warmer space, rust removed and rust inhibitor "stuff" applied to lower areas. Will cover top/outside tomorrow. Hope to have primed and top coat next weekend.

MLC has a repainted, rust free hood covering her motor. Also has a repaired rear drive shaft. Back on the road in time for a road trip.

Well, that hood lasted a week. A trip to whispering pines ended with this.

I figured that the mrs would allow some upgrades since so much needed replaced. I got lucky. Plan is
* used hood/grill
* Black Widow Gear tube fenders front and rear
* A to Z fab front and rear bumper kits
* A to Z fab tire carrier kit

And to deal with my little death wobbling friend Ruff Stuff adjustable LCA. Worked in those today. Just need the new axle bracket and M4 Fab time to get these installed (before and after paint)

Been spending time at wingman's working in MLC. Fenders tacked together. Flare is 5.5" which covers a 12.5" width MTR to the edge of the lugs. Say 1" if sidewall not under flare. Exactly what I wanted.

I don't have pics with one of the MTR under the tubing but here's what we have. Skins and rears up after full welding.

Front is done!

AtoZ Fab front bumper mount and clevis
Black Widow Gear tube fenders
Lifetime LED headlights and market/blinkers
Previously dented hood and grill (indented and painted)
Lots of rattle cans
Hood pins from summit

Here are a few pics.
