fun trip good weekend

i preran friday night with the new car.  Kyle suggested some fire wall improvements and some ideas about keeping fuel out of the floor of the car

Car was feeling great, too fast.  i slid off course and didnt let up in the rough, found a rock in the bush smoked the drive side front tire.

got out looked at it, it was hosed.  drove about 6 miles out on the flat and back to pits

decided to not race- needs some tweaking, and i ripped my fire suit getting into the car :(

wreck wheeled saturday.  Walks all 3 climbs on trail 5, really happy with the car everywhere.

made it up both sides of the new jotters today.  Kinked and blew rear drive shaft just right of stair step.

packed up and headed home.  shower felt GREAT.

Thanks for cake liz!

Another good weekend.  We ended up getting split up into groups.  They kept morphing but Hawker stayed with PerkinjeX15 on a bunch of greens and blues most of the afternoon.  Some carnage was had.

Come to the meeting Wednesday and get a full report...

Dakota trans is smoked. Either the pump or convertor lets go when it gets some heat in the fluid. It crawled all over the comp course and felt great, died after a mile or so of green trail. Cooled off for 15-20m and it almost made it back to camp. Drove on the trailer fine today and drove around fine when I got home. Interesting mode of failure.

I rode along with Paul after I was done.
Paul broke the plug welds on both AMC 20 tubes. Pinion is about 20Ëš higher than it should be. Rear shaft is bent. Thing flat out worked on Crawler Ridge climbs, I think it popped free climbing the Jotter bypass and CR finished it off.

Matt turned his drag link into a V. It didn't remove my face when it let loose from the Jeep. Straightened it out w a hilift handle

Spencer smoked the bearings on a trailer hub on the way home. Took them about 4 hours to get that 100% via Tractor Supply parts, he and Matt are on I-80 now, should be all set.

Thanks for having us! We had a blast and thanks to hawker for getting with the newbies on some greens and blues. Also thanks to Wingman for letting us meet up with him and follow him down and barrow the CB that thankfully we did not need. Looking forward to the next run!

Thanks guys for letting me tag along in Sunday.  I had a blast and never beat the Crawler Ridge notch before.  Thanks for the spotting and help.  I look forward to catching up again.  Thanks for taking the vid and pics.  Below is the link where they can be found.
