TJ radio hole
« on: July 23, 2007, 10:29:15 PM »
My TJ came with the radio installed in the Tuffy console between the seats, but the the hole in the dash where the radio was is empty.  Does anyone know of a company that sells an insert to fill the area?

just use a piece of plexi-glass and paint it up the color of your  dash

I have thought about that, but then I would have to add an external speaker since the speaker would be inside the dash.

the Uniden that I have in my VW has a forward firing speaker for just that reason.  Dopple will know the model number off the top of his head.

If you\'re interested I can check around the local VW board.  MkIVs (my car\'s generation) have a double DIN slot, and some cars come with a single DIN radio and a crap pocket.

Mount an external speaker on the dash. Radio Shack has them for less than $10 I think. I have one mounted at sun visor level because of my hearing.
