Just dropped the cash on some new goodies! Hopefully they\'ll be in with time to spare for install before 101. If I ever get 10 minutes, I\'ll start an actual build thread on here.

I'm useless at updating!
Tore into this thing last night....well kinda. All the Metalcloak stuff is coming off for sandblasting. Rust is no good. Well, any fastener that terminated inside the body tub came right out. Anything outside is rusted solid. Stainless button head hex bolts are useless when the nyloc nut is crap mild steel. Tried every trick i could think of and busted lots of tools in the process. Today drills/plasma/torches/grinders come out to play. Just worried about the 4 nutserts, they're in kind of critical spots.  Have to get it looking good for the new 37's and future broken axle parts! ::)

Never purchasing anything with allen/torx heads again.  Ever. And using anti-seize on a ridiculous level as well. I might buy a 55 gallon drum of the stuff.

Going to give powdercoating one more try i guess. Very well established company and they're one town over so if it goes south it's easily fixed. They do a zinc-heavy primer just like our wheel reconditioning guy does and we have spectacular luck with that. Fingers crossed!

Long overdue update : powdercoating came out beautiful. Hopefully with the better process and lack of salt this thing will look good for years. (Well until i start rolling it and cutting it up)
Now sitting on 37" Interco Truxxs MT's. Finally found a tire size that the stock rubicon doesn't like. 6th is borderline useless until 60mph.

Wouldn't you know it. Sat in the lean-to all winter so no salt and guess what's creeping out of the weld areas on my freshly powdercoated parts.....
Well, no one is getting three whacks at these things. >:(

Did you have metal cloak do the coating again?
