4x4 trails
The 2009 4x4 wheeling season is here!

Unlike last year, the open rides will not require any pre-registration.  The committee will still provide one or more trained guides for each open trail date.  For clubs who wish to have a club-only trail ride, we will gladly accept your group of 15 or more trucks.  If your club would like to join up with another club please visit http://wpa4xtrac.org, join the forum, introduce yourself and inquire about other clubs.

If you have any questions or would like to request a club-only trail date, please contact Rock Run at rock_run@verizon.net or Dan Guyer at dan58@marylandcreepers.com

*Please be at the park at 9am and go directly to the office to register all members of your party.  A short drivers meeting and vehicle safety inspection will follow.

Trails at Rock Run are rated by the following system:
Green/low blue: stock vehicles and those with a mild lift.
Blue/low black: 33? tires and at least one locker. Potential for body and drivetrain damage.
Upper Black: 35? tires(minimum requirement), two lockers, and winch. Body and drivetrain damage are very possible.

Additional required equipment for all vehicles is as follows:
1.) Have solid recovery points on the front and rear of the vehicle.
2.) Have a capable tow strap ? no metal hooks or chains.
3.) Have an operational fire extinguisher.
4.) Have properly installed seat belts for all passengers.
5.) Have a lifting jack capable of lifting the vehicle\'s tire off the ground.
6.) Have a fullsize spare tire compatible with the other four tires.
7.) Have tools available to change a tire.
8.) Have a standard First Aid kit.
9.) Have your vehicle in good running condition

Just got off the phone with Rock run.  There are 13 trails, mostly blue, green levels with 1 black trail.  Guided only and they try to get everyone assembled by 10:30 to roll out for pretty much a full day of wheeling.  I asked if they would allow us to also wheel Saturday as a club preregistered, but no go.

Camping:  we are welcome to come down saturday afternoon / night to setup.  Limited amount of fire rings, first come first serve.

The girl on the phone liked the word \"Jeepin\" !

They have plans to have it more open as it develops but unfortunatly at this time its a one day event.  Im going to get on the boards and ask around if there is any other land on the way to wheel saturday.

i have been doing some reading.  I hear \"punch buggy\" is a good trail to run.  I guess im in with a grr for only one day of wheeling.

also noted, their forum sucks with little to no travel.  sounds like one of the more involved people is an RCROCks spotter so we should hassel him Aug22 if the trip sucks.

\"too far\" for me for one day of wheeling.  if something else nearby is found to be entertaining for day 2 I\'ll consider it......

I wanted to ask if the greens are manageable with out protection but after looking at photos I\'m not sure if I would be safe anywhere?
