I need some information. I needed to replace my brake caliper, because it was locking up. I went and bought 2 new calipers and when i was replacing the passenger side the bolt that goes into the knuckle striped out at the knuckle. Do I have to buy a new knuckle at about $100 or can i have it tapped? the problem is I cant go to a larger bolt because of the size of the sleeve in the caliper. Let me know what you think.

You may be able to weld/fill the hole, re-drill, and tap it out again...

Other ideas?

you could go with a hieli-coil they hold well in that situation . see it alot at work not my first choice but will work

filling/drilling/tapping would be correct but difficult and expensive.

I\'d helicoil it, and try not to touch it much after that

They also make \"help\" section parts for some applications with just larger, self tappping, threads. those work good too.

or get a nuckle from someone you know and then you have no worries
