Tow points on a 2000 Cherokee
« on: May 31, 2009, 04:38:39 AM »
Just checking out the trail requirements and read again about the front/rear tow points.  Went to look on my Cherokee and there aren\'t any.  From things I\'ve read it doesn\'t appear there are mount points for these.

Any thoughts as to how I can install tow points?  Not sure how long I\'m going to keep the Cherokee, as I\'m looking for a 2dr Wrangler.  So I\'d like to keep the expense to a minimum.

Thanks!

look to score a used hitch for the rear, the front is tougher.  the factory bracket is tough to come across and without it you end up trying to rip your bumper off like Jake did.

I can atest for that, I picked up the front hooks from the web,

They\'re not that expensive but they are a pain on the but to put on. Its not that it needs  special tools or anything technical but its heavy work if your doing it alone like I was.

luvmyxj, just got home from work.  I\'ll take the hitch and hooks for $50.

Hey JerMan75 you did beat me to the punch though, so I\'m ok if you want to take them.  Just let me know...  thanks.

i cut the bottom of my front bumper so i think im going to look for D ring brakets for the front and a class III hitch with a D ring for the rear.  im still inerested in hooks for the front if they are a good price.

Ok, thanks man.  Picked up the mounting hardware yesterday, so should be all set.

^^ All done.  Nice little project for me and my son.  The most tedious part was getting the rust and crap out of the weld nuts on the passenger side.  Once that was done, it went real fast.

For anyone interested here\'s a great site for hitch installation videos for many vehicles.
