Need camping spots
« on: August 15, 2007, 11:39:22 AM »
I am looking for some new places to camp this year.
Tent camping, no power, etc.
I have been to Stony brook and watkins glen, both are great, but very busy.

Are there any out of the way places with some good hiking etc?

sasgrf is right!!  Fairhaven is awsome and not busy.  You can get good spots overlooking the lake AND Chimney Bluffs is a short right (like 10 mins) away and has great hiking trials.

You can just do a google search for New York Campgrounds or check out the new york DEC website for a ton of information and maps.

Fair Haven is an awesome place to camp. I live in Fair Haven and the park is a nice, clean place to stay.
