Title: Shop to install Torque box
Post by: jtbray on February 06, 2020, 10:12:29 AM
Anyone know of a shop that can install new torque boxes on a 1997 tj in or around East Rochester?

What's a torque box? Quick google showed me it's a muscle car body/tub reinforcement, but I'm certain that's not what you mean on a TJ...

Same thing on a TJ, it's the channel on each side with the 3 body mounts on each, there are repair pieces or full length, my welding skills are less than adequate. I may only need the middle and rear, its been sitting so I  haven't been up under it in a while

One of our members might be interested in the job, he'll see this soon I'm sure.

hard pass.

if it needs those, someone should have the heart to tell you to send the project down the road.

i just finished up a YJ and rebuilt 9 of the 11 mounts on a tub that someone should have told the owner to scrap years and many $$ ago.
