I saw prices posted somewhere, may have been a FB post or may have been on the dirt riot site. Somewhere between U4 and Line Mountain to be general about it.

RC is free to camp if you are heading down tonight. Otherwise, meet up at 9a in the parking lot. If you have an FRS radio, bring it along.

I’ll PM you my cell number.

Good trip even though it was HOT. Daytime temps in the mid-to-upper 90s with no breeze. If you weren't moving, those little gnats were on the attack too. No carnage other than a steering stabilizer (Mark T) and a rear shock (Reid).

We ran Power Line, 11, 23, 18, 10, H, 13a, 16, E, Cemetery, Boot Hill, Quary, Shoot the Moon, S, 4, and Yellow Jacket. We were out for 11 hrs!

Three of us (*) went to AOAA Sunday and ran 39, Bee Line, Twister, Barney Rubble, 38C, and a couple of others before calling it around 2:30p. Hardly any full size vehicles on the trails today.

I had a blast.
I broke my steering box mounting bracket. I'm a little surprised that's is all I broke.

Great racing weekend for Erik and I, but may have cost the 901 a motor. We were down on power from the green flag and got an overtemp warning in the last 2-3 miles of our race. Seems likely we lost all coolant through a bad head gasket and then really cooked it.

We cooled off the UTV so it didn't try to burn (rear plastics were soft over the muffler...) and then jumped in my car. I ended up first in class, and perhaps second overall behind Kim Matzen, full results will tell. She beat us by 25 seconds over about 30 miles of racing. I noticed something wrong with a wheel bearing with about 3 miles to go (I was 2 pumps to get brakes, and that's almost always a spindle or bearing) and dialed it back to 70-80% to save the car. Really didn't want to DNF after a very clean race and I guess it worked out!

Then the gnats tried to carry us away, followed by the houseflies (thank $DEITY the weren't biting flies). After the heat of the day broke I packed up because I'd had it with the bugs, intending to leave, and then Joe wouldn't start. Behaved like dead batteries. Half an hour on jumper cables from Erik's coach made no difference and we decided it had to be a bad starter. We aired me up from Eirk's coach so I could release the brakes and Eric Amato dropped his trailer and used his F250 powerstroke in low range to drag me backwards out of my parking spot and to the road where we pop started it in low reverse very first try. I can't wait to watch Erik's video of this again. It was quite excellent.

After that 3ish hour delay I departed for home and made it without issue. Wouldn't crank seconds after shutting it down. I'll probably pull the starter Wednesday morning if I fell like continuing to avoid the heat, but I need to tear down the frontend of the car to fix for Line Mountain weekend after next. I may brave the heat...
