Title: What tires to buy?
Post by: xstream on February 03, 2008, 11:34:25 AM
I am pulling my hair out trying to pick a tire.Looking at BFG at/ko\'S,
or some Goodyear MTR\'s,or Swampers?I have read a ton of reviews with no conclusion. I would say 90% of my driving is on road and I would like a tire that preforms well in rain and snow.Any feedback on your tire choice and mileage of your tires would be a great help.

That\'s the first time I\'ve ever heard BFG muds called \"good in the snow\" FWIW

I had MT/R\'s too and they were great in the snow.  A buddy of mine had BFG MT\'s and they sucked.

The best snow tires I\'ve ever had was the Cooper S/T\'s.  They did pretty good while wheeling.

ok, i feel the need to defent myself here, when i had the BFG\'s the truck wasnt a daily driver, so when i had it out in the snow it was when i went out to play and it was in 4x4. in 2wd i would guess that it would have been all over the place being that a wrangler is so light...still has my vote for a great tire.

I am actually running BFG MT\'s on my daily driven TJ now.  They have not been that bad in the snow as I was told/expected.

Well I went with these 33x12.50x15\'s  pro comp Xtreme mud  terrain and a winch instead of the MTR\'s  (nice ride after 250 miles not too loud) oh yea I drove to the Ohio 4 wheel parts store this week end ,it was a fun little trip and I got to play with my TomTom.......

I\'m really curious to hear how those ProComps work out.  I like their tread pattern a lot but I\'ve not heard the greatest things about their durability.  I think they should be a fine choice under the lighter TJ though, most problems I\'ve read of may have been overloaded tires, as they were mostly under fullsizes.

yay new things!  Pro Comps and BFG Muds are I think about the only tires I have not run....  I own a set of Trxus but I\'m not sure that counts as having run them.... :)
