Post by: dhc13 on October 15, 2013, 05:19:53 AM
Hey guys, new to the sport and just got working on my 2003 Grand Cherokee Limited. Next weekend its going up on an IRO 6.5" kit with 33's. Can't wait to get her dirty. Just looking for some places around the area to get her stuck.

check the upcoming events section. there is a trip to whispering pines (Lyons) planned for 10/27. not aggressive terrain, but plenty of opportunity to get dirty and do something stupid.

I'd love to come but I'm not certain my jeep will be ready, planning on doing the lift kit on the 26th. If all goes well ill be there! Whats whispering pines like? Can a guy get by with A/T's? Its my DD so im not putting M/T's on it just yet.

If its relatively dry yes. I ran 33x12.5 AT at the 101 my first time off road ever. The day was terrible mud. I only needed pulled in one section. Went back to that section dry and it was like pavement. Just make sure you have another vehicle and you'd be fine.

MLC ('02 TJ, 2.5L i4) is my DD. 3" lift. 33x12.5 MT/AT and 30x9.5 AT (when road is all she'll see for a while). All open diffs. She does WP just fine if I stay out of deep holes and respect her limits. I can think of 8 places she'll need help in (4 deep mud, 4 terrain needing lockers) that I have to avoid when alone.

I'm pretty close to WP so let me know of you want to try it out. More than happy to get a few more beauty marks on MLC.
