So I'm going to be getting 35s soon since my current 31s are getting lower in tread. I was curious on opinions that people had on them in terms of what to get. I originally had my mind set on wrangler MT/Rs with kevlar but after hearing a bit about them being hard to balance from smike and doing a bit of research, I'm sort of back on the fence about it. They're still what I'm leaning heavily towards but I was just wondering if anyone had and different opinions/suggestions.

Just worked a price out and it would cost $100 more to get the retreads and new rims than it would to get 5 new good years for my 15s.

Absolutely love my MTRs. That said I had one that was out of round. And they could get reballanced

I have 35x12.5x17 MTRk. I am on my 2nd set after 2 months . Good year sent me 5 new tires under warranty. They are a bitch to ballence.. or Maby its due to my beedlocks... I was between mtrk and bfg km2.... my warranty install will be next week.. I'll keep you posted and see if they ballence better

Comiting on Goodyear MTR Ks. $248 installed per tire, expected to be here October 7th. Gonna look into bead balancing (dyna beads?) and hopefully that will help with their rep to not balance well.

Can't balance with beads in. Have to balance first, then put beads in if you want them. Most just do one or the other...
Equal is the brand that I've used.

I've used Equal, airsoft BBs, and a rubber bead product from Talmadge is in the drive tires on the '07.5. Dynamic balancing is the only way to go for tires that will get chunked or have wheel weights scraped off. I believe it to be about 80% as good as a good balance, but it stays consistent as the tires change.

I've heard/read good stuff about Equal and I think the place I'm getting my tires from supplies it, so I'm gonna give that a shot.

they are very comparable to one another, either is a fantastic choice for racing or general purpose wheeling.

Think i've read somewhere that Nitto are heavy. I use my ride for daily driving and drive on soft trails some weekends so i need dependable tires (http://4wheelonline.com/Off_Road_Mud_Tires.25) I can use for both road conditions. should i get the Toyo's instead?

Nitto and Toyo share a parent company and a TON of technology, I'd be shocked if one is significantly heavier than the other in a given design/ size/ load rating.
Compare them yourself, all tire manufacturers list weight in their spec charts.
