So my wife decided it would be fun to drive through a pile of snow in her work parking lot in our 2012 WK2 at normal parking lot speeds. The only issue is it was a rock pile covered with a thin layer of snow. She ended getting a gash in the side wall of one tire, severely scratching that wheel and another wheel. She likes the look of the stock rims so we will be replacing the scratched wheels with OEM wheels. There was already curb rash on one of the other wheels so she agreed to get that one replaced at the same time. So the total rims that really need replaced is 3.

That is long store for a simple question. Should I buy 4 new OEM rims and wrap the old OEM 20 inch rims in something more aggressive or just buy the 3 needed and save my money for true off road wheels later? The best deal I could find on the OEM rims was $437.

eBay has deals on wheels all day long.  The larger the wheel, the more expensive the tire.  Typically.

Find a set of 17" OEM and put some more aggressive tires on.  You won't regret it.  8)

Leslie has a 2012 WK2 and there isn't much room in there for big/aggressive tires using the stock 20" rims.
17's might be the way to go to get alittle more tire in there..... ;)

That is each and only includes the wheel, would still need rubber which I am finding is about $200 per tire.

Sounds like the consenses is to scrape the idea of reusing the old ones for off road fun and save up for some 17in OEM rims. Just seems like a waste to throw out the old ones, since the RIMs are not bent, just 1/8 deep scratches. The picture is the worst of the bunch but it doesn't really show how deep the scratches are. Maybe someone on ebay or craigs list wants some scratched 20s  :D

When I was into auto detailing instead of getting it dirty. There is a putty to fix that or you can have the rims done by a professional it was 40$ per wheel when I had them remachined and the curb rash removed

Really, and where would one take wheels to get this type of treatment done?

Alloy wheel repair specialists is probably the biggest company. Check them out online.
