Title: Login Issues
Post by: MrMindless on July 01, 2011, 09:38:19 AM
I was just emailed a question about a login issue that I\'ve seen a couple times myself - for some reason after you log in to the site it is forwarding to a bad address as seen in the attachment here from Mike H.  If you go back to http://www.fingerlakes4x4.org or whatever other good page you have bookmarked you\'ll be logged in and all will be well.

I don\'t have time to dig for what may be going on right now (looks like a trailing / missing somewhere, or a missing http:// somewhere), so unless Mike or Aaron have more time than I do it\'ll probably end up remaining broken through the weekend.  Post up if you see or don\'t see that problem.  It\'s been intermittent for me which might make it tough to track down.

I have never seen it error like that, but I was having a while where it would take me to some old random post instead of where I was at.. but I have not seen that in a while.  I just figured it was my cache screwing up or something..

Its probobly because IE is EVIL. Firefox is a much much much better browser.

I\' ve been getting the same issue lately I\'ve gotten it on both IE and FireFox. Also on my phone browser gives page error 404 page not found.  Hitting refresh or back always brings me to the home page. Ateasy I know I\' m not alone now.

I was getting the random page thing too, and it seems I\'m getting the above after login every time now.  Couple different computers in FF and Safari.

I have been getting kicked off to a Roadrunner page.  Also had problems getting access to forums when I finally get logged  on.

That roadrunner page is a result of the same thing.  Very long story short they forward bad URLs to a landing page to make $$ on ads and search clicks.

I tried clearing the session table per some suggestions I found, that had no effect.

I\'ve got to move on to some other things now.

If you\'re seeing a network error it\'s something else.  The issue at hand here is being redirected to a bad URL after logging in.  If you\'re seeing something other than that I\'d love to hear about it.

I removed all the cache files.  That appears to have fixed it.

ditto, just happened today.

we\'ve been getting a deluge of spam registrations again.  I\'ve been deleting the accounts but don\'t know which cache to kill.
