Title: Tires?

Hey guys, I\'ve got about 30% tread on my 35\" Boggers right now and was wondering where i might be able to pickup some Gumbo mudders or even what kind of tire I should be looking at.. I was thinking around 37\" or 38\" maybe even 39\" and the tires will be primarily used on pavement but should be good for mud boggin as well.. What would you guys recommend?

hmm. i had pretty good luck with Procomp MT\'s on the street and wheeling. once you get over a 35\" tire there really isnt much out there thats going to give you 20K miles. Mindless has had reasonable luck on 40\" MTR\'s but with offroad trade offs. Going that big into the 39\" tire dont buy dryrotted gumbos- keep safety in mind when one of those things blows on the thruway.

Hmmm you got a good point there with the thruway.. I don\'t expect to have the tire last more than 20k with highway use.. Hell 15k would be alright seeing as how this isn\'t my daily driver or atleast isn\'t my daily driver three out of the four seasons a year.

if you want a 37\" tire for the street there are a lot of options out there. If you want something bigger than that MT/R is the only thing I\'d suggest.
Most things that are good for the street can be tolerable in rocks but not many well do well at all in mud. they have small voids and pack up quickly....

I personally hated my MTR\'s in the mud, they were useless, but on the road they were very nice, and I got 40k out of them.
For mud/road and only 15-20k life, I would totally go with a super swamper SX radial. the bias-ply might get 10-15k, you won\'t need the soft rubber or the flex of a bias-ply in the mud.

Soft rubber is not needed in the mud but the bias ply will help keeping you on top of it the stiff radials tend to cut through it

eddie is our resident mudder, and has much more knowledge on the subject.
good point on the bias. Eddie- what tires are you running? what tire would you run if money was no issue?

I\'m running 33 inch ltbs right now they ride like square blocks but truly excell in the mud and bang for the buck are the way to go and they just came out with some larger sizes I have found that for a tire to be good in the mud it will suck on the street or vice versa that being said next summer I will be running 33 14 15 boggers out back and 33 13.50 15 ltbs on my front

If money were no option I would own a 1000 hp trailer quenn mud truck and run a set of firestone 48 26.50 24 like the lime trucks run out in the mucks

I have the handkook mts 35 x 12.5 and they are great for both mall crawling and in the snow and mud. They have 40,000 miles on them with almost no wear. The don\'t shake at all except after hitting the trail. 35 psi on the street and 20 out in the woods. And they are a good price!! 180 a tire for 35x12.5x15. Just google them and check the reviews.

check out the super swamper tsl radial those gave me great traction anywhere mud snow dry roads didnt matter and they are priced fairly too.

The BFG mud terrains always did very well in the mud, and gave a very respectable on road performance! Im speaking of the older tread design. The new Mud Terrain design is \"supposed to be better\" but i have not seen any in action yet!

Hay guys, Has any ever tried those Mattracks? I\'ve always thought hey where cool as all get out, but I\'ve never heard from any one that has used them.
