Title: coolant leak
Post by: JerMan75 on July 18, 2009, 04:20:22 PM
looks like my water pump is leaking. the coolant is running down the lower hose coming from the pump side. i changed the hose twice thinking that it was to problem, but it made it worse. is there a seal on there that needs to be replaced or would i need a new pump? is this a test i would be able to do in my driveway with basic tools, or would i need anything special?  i have nearly $300 ready to buy a 3\" lift and if i can fix this without spending that, i will do anything i can.

Water pumps suck!!! If its just the seal, you could probobally just use some silicone for now. But it def. sounds like a new water pump is in order. Basic tools are all you need, jus be ready to catch the antifreeze as it comes out, I would drain it at the peck-cock before you start. Sorry to hear you cant make it sunday. I was lookin foreward to meeting you.
